The NDIS Rules provide further necessary details:
A short summary of the NDIS Rules is a useful resource.
The guidelines in this instrument describe a process that a person can use to apply to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission to be assessed as being an ‘NDIS behaviour support practitioner’ as defined by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (Restrictive Practices and Behaviour Support) Rules 2018. They also describe what the Commissioner will generally take into account in considering whether a person is an ‘NDIS behaviour support practitioner’.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (Registered NDIS Provider Notice of Changes and Events) Guidelines 2019 provide detail on matters that the Commissioner will take into account in assessing compliance by registered NDIS providers with the conditions of registration contained in sections 13 and 13A of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (Provider Registration and Practice Standards) Rules 2018.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (Complaints Management and Resolution) Rules 2018 require the Commission and NDIS providers to have proper regard to procedural fairness requirements in managing complaints. These Procedural Fairness Guidelines explain the principles and approach to procedural fairness that is proportionate and appropriate to the issues being raised in a complaint.
These Guidelines provide for audits of applicants for registration or renewal of registration as a registered NDIS provider. They also provide for modified audits of residential aged care facilities seeking registration or renewal of registration.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (Quality Indicators for NDIS Practice Standards) Guidelines 2018 provide the detailed indicators for each of the NDIS Practice Standards. They should be read alongside the National Disability Insurance Scheme (Provider Registration and Practice Standards) Rules 2018.
The skills descriptors provide guidance for NDIS providers and auditors by describing the skills and knowledge that NDIS providers should ensure their workers have when supporting participants with high intensity daily personal activities (HIDPA) as defined in the NDIS Practice Standards (High Intensity Daily Personal Activities Module).
